Smart Vehicle Harness |
||
|
The smart vehicle harness (SVH) is an intelligent in-vehicle network that uses the CAN protocol. A controller unit for driver and control interfacing is connected to node units with configurable inputs and outputs. All the body functions (indicators, brake lights, etc.) connected to the node units are easily managed and reconfigured through a PC application with a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). In conventional vehicle harnesses, body functions are wired individually to the dashboard or driver interface, via relay and fuse panels. This results in complex and bulky wiring harnesses. The SVH is a much simpler and robust harness, which is easy to manufacture, assemble and install. The product has self-healing capabilities, which enhance road safety features. The system provides for ease of adaptation to changing customer requirements (addition to or modifications of electrical systems), as well as for a built-in diagnostics capability, which will greatly improve the maintenance of those vehicles.
